Upcoming Events
Every Tuesday - 1 to 3 pm - Fiber/
      textile craft group. Knitters,
      crotcherers, needlepointers, etc.
      are invited to join others who
      share their passion for fiber arts
      for open weekly gatherings in
      the Parlor room of the library.
Every Wednesday - 10 am–noon -
      Coloring for adults. Books, pencils,
      and markers are available at the
      library or bring your own. Not just
      for children anymore—"coloring
      has therapeutic potential to
      reduce anxiety, create focus, and
      bring about more mindfulness".
Every Thursday - 1 to 3 pm - American
      Mah Jongg group. Beginners as
      well as experienced players
      welcome to join in the fun.
April and May - Art in the Library: Ella
     Lewis School Students Works.
     Exhibit is open during library hours.
May 20th - 6 pm - Family Movie
     Night - Norm of the North. PG.
     90 min. When a real estate
     development invades his Arctic
     home, Norm and his three lemming
     friends head to New York City,
     where Norm becomes the mascot
     of the corporation in an attempt
     to bring it down from the inside
     and protect his homeland. Enjoy
     this 2016 animated adventure
     comedy on our BIG screen in the
     company of friends. Free. Snacks
     and drinks available by donation.
May 24th - 4 pm - Book Club Discussion
     of In the Garden of Beasts by Erik
     Larson. Copies of the book
     are available from the library.
     All welcome.
June 1st - 1:30 pm - The DaPonte
     String Quartet. Combination
     lecture and performance by one
     of Maine's premier musical groups.
     Using works from their upcoming
     concert, the quartet will discuss
     rehearsal techniques, the historical
     background of the music, how four
     different people decide how to
     approach a score, how they com-
     municate during a performance,
     and what to listen for in a piece of
     music. Performances of musical
     excerpts will be followed by a Q
     and A with audience members.
     Admission is free.
June 3rd - 6 pm - Family Movie
     Night - The Peanuts Movie. G.
     88 min. Snoopy embarks upon
     his greatest mission as he and
     his team take to the skies to
     pursue their arch-nemesis, while
     his best pal Charlie Brown begins
     his own epic quest back home to
     win the love of his life. Enjoy this
     2015 animated adventure comedy
     featuring all of the classic and
     lovable Peanuts characters on our
     BIG screen in the company of
     friends. Free. Snacks and drinks
     available by donation.

The Library is easy to find: it is just off of Route 1 in Steuben, on the Village Road across from the Ella Lewis Grammar School. The driveway leads around back to the main entrance.
