There are many resources and services available at the Moore Library.

Book, Audio-book, and Video Loans
The Library has over 15,000 books on the shelves with new acquisitions monthly, and a quickly growing and varied collection of videos and audio-books that you can check out for free for periods of up to 2 weeks. So stop in and get your library card—a passport to a world of knowledge and entertainment.

New e-book Program!
The Library now subscribes to Maine Infonet Download Library, so our patrons can borrow free of charge a wide range of books to read on their e-readers,ipads, or computers. Stop by the library to get an informational brochure and to ask the librarian about how you can participate.

Computers and Hi-speed Wifi
In addition to three desktop public access computers, the Library now has several laptops that patrons can borrow for use within the Library. And for those who bring their own laptops, the building and immediate grounds are covered by our wifi signal, allowing you to access the web using the Library's super-fast, high-capacity T-1 fiber-optic connection.

Inter-Library Loan
If you can't find the specific volume you are looking for amongst the Library's own collection, the librarian can request it from one of many libraries throughout the state, effectively increasing the offerings to our patrons many-fold. There is no cost for utilizing this great service.

Newspapers and Magazines
The periodicals section has the current issues of a wide selection of magazines as well as local papers (Downeast Coastal Press, Ellsworth American, and Machias Valley Observer) for you to read while at the Library.

Copying, Scanning, and Printing
If you need to copy, scan, or print a document, these services are available for a modest fee to help cover the costs of supplies and equipment upkeep.Just ask the librarian to assist you.

Geneaology
The Moore Library has extensive local records that can help you trace your family tree. In additon, The Maine State Library is pleased to announce that Ancestry.com is now available for access from Maine’s public libraries, through MARVEL: Maine’s Virtual Library. Ancestry Library Edition includes more than 7,000 databases giving access to censuses, vital records, immigration, family histories, military records, legal documents, directories, photos and maps. .

Games and Puzzles
A fun selection of educational and engaging games and puzzles are available either for use within the library or for borrowing.

MARVEL - Thousands of magazines, newspapers, and reference books are available anywhere in the State of Maine through the online resources of MARVEL! Maine's Virtual Library.

KIDS - Lots of great information and more for children.

Maine Infonet - Searchable (by author, title, subject, numbers, etc.) statewide library catalog. If you something you want and it is not in our library, Jeanne can obtain it for free as an interlibrary loan.
