Upcoming Events
Every Tuesday - 1 to 3 pm - Fiber/
     textile craft group. Knitters,
     crotcherers, needlepointers, etc.
     are invited to join others who
     share their passion for fiber arts
     for open weekly gatherings in
     the Parlor room of the library.
Every Thursday - 1 to 3 pm - American
     Mahjong group. Beginners as
     well as experienced players
     welcome to join in the fun.
May 6th - 9 am to noon- Children's
    Indoor Yard Sale. Come shop for
    children?s clothes (boys and girls),
    toys, dolls, games, puzzles, books,
    VHS t zapes, DVDs, and lots and lots
    of stuffed animals.
May 12th - 6 pm - Movie Night -
    Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar
    Children. PG-13. 127 min. When
    Jacob discovers clues to a mystery
    that stretches across time, he finds
    Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar
    Children. But the danger deepens
    after he gets to know the residents
    and learns about their special
    powers.Directed by Tim Burton.
    Shown on a big screen. As always,
    the movie is free and refreshments
    are sold by donation.
May 19th - 5:30 pm - Annual Volunteer
    Appreciation Dinner. If you've
    volunteered at the library/
    community center in the last year
    you should get an invitation
    sometime in early May. (If you
    don't, please let us know so we
    can correct our error and get you
    on the volunteer list!)
May 30th - 4:00 pm - Book Club.
    Will discuss The Good Braider by
    Terry Farish. The Good Braider was
    selected as the 2013 Bank Street
    College of Education Best Book of
    the Year and a Book of Outstanding
    Merit. In spare free verse laced
    with unforgettable images, Viola's
    strikingly original voice sings out
    the story of her family's journey
    from war-torn Sudan, to Cairo,
    and finally to Portland, Maine.
    Copies of the book are available
    from the library. Free and open
    to all.
June 3rd - 9 am to noon - Household
     Goods/Antiques Yard Sale.
     Come shop and get some
     great bargains.

The Library is easy to find: it is just off of Route 1 in Steuben, on the Village Road across from the Ella Lewis Grammar School. The driveway leads around back to the main entrance.
